Indians, Reds spring training tickets now available


Cleveland Indians, 2016 American League Champions, return to Goodyear



Goodyear, Ariz. (Feb. 03, 2017) – The team shop and ticket office at Goodyear Ballpark, 1933 S. Ballpark Way, are now open for the 2017 spring training season. Fans can purchase the latest Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds gear, tickets and souvenirs. Pre-season hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cleveland Indians pitchers and catchers report to Goodyear on Feb. 12 with their first workout taking place Feb. 14. Position players report Feb. 16 and have their first workout Feb. 18.

Cincinnati Reds pitchers and catchers report to Goodyear Feb. 13 with their first workout, taking place Feb. 14. Position players report Feb. 16 and have their first workout Feb. 17.

Watch the Workouts
Team workouts are free and open to the public. Workouts begin at 9:15 a.m. daily throughout the spring training season at the Indians and Reds Development Complexes, located on Wood Boulevard, south of the Goodyear Ballpark. Each team also takes batting practice at their complex prior to the games.

Game Schedule
Opening day is Saturday, Feb. 25 at Goodyear Ballpark. Goodyear’s home teams, the Cleveland Indians and the Cincinnati Reds, play each other with the first pitch at 1:05 p.m. The 2017 spring training season runs through Wednesday, March 29, Fan Appreciation Day, when the same match-up closes out another exciting round of pre-season action.

Fan Experiences
This year, spring training in Goodyear offers even more ways to heighten the excitement with new foods, special events, and up-close-and-personal Indians and Reds Fan Experiences. Fans can book any one of three exciting packages through the Goodyear Ballpark Ticket Office.

  • On-Field Workout: $130/person: Indians available March 11 and March 25; Reds available March 12
  • Batting Practice: $80/person: Indians available March 17; Reds available Feb. 26 and March 18
  • Indians Player/Broadcaster Meet & Greet: $105/person: March 5 and March 19

Goodyear Ballpark will be implementing Major League Baseball’s new security regulations, including increased fan screening at all gates. Fans will be required to walk through metal detectors upon entry and are encouraged to arrive early to allow extra time when entering the ballpark. 2016 Goodyear Spring Training Quick Facts

  • Goodyear Ballpark welcomed its millionth fan on Mar. 19, 2016 during the sellout Indians vs. Cubs game.
  • On this same day, a new all-time attendance record of 11,616 was set at Goodyear Ballpark.
  • The 2016 spring training season also set an all-time season attendance record of 159,280, a six percent increase over 2015.
  • The Cactus League pumps $809 million into the state’s economy annually, with $544 million coming during spring training. Goodyear’s share of the spring training season revenue is $56.2 million per year.
  • Sixty-one percent of spring training attendees are from out of the area, staying an average of five to six nights, and spending $1500 per group dining, shopping and sightseeing.

Major League Baseball in Goodyear
Goodyear Ballpark is the spring training home to Major League Baseball’s Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds. Built in 2008, the $108 million development includes Goodyear Ballpark, the Indians Development Complex, and the Reds Development Complex co-located on a 103-acre parcel south of Yuma Road and east of Estrella Parkway. In addition to hosting Cactus League spring training action, Goodyear Ballpark is home to many of the city’s festivals and special events year round, including sports programs, movie nights, concerts and graduations.
