Tres Rios Nature Festival moved to April 1 & 2

Rain fills rivers, forces rescheduling of event

Tres Rios Nature Festival - NEW DATES

April 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
April 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Base and Meridian Wildlife Area next to Phoenix International Raceway
7602 S. Avondale Blvd., Avondale

Goodyear, Ariz. (March 3, 2017) –The public is invited to come out to the Base and Meridian Wildlife Area, 7602 S. Avondale Blvd. in Avondale, on April 1 and 2 for the Tres Rios Nature Festival.  Admission and parking are free.

Originally scheduled for March 4 and 5, the event had to be postponed due to flooding in the area. Recent storms up north have filled the water basins in the northern parts of the state. To allow for available space for future runoff Salt River Project (SRP) has released the waters from its reservoirs, causing the Salt and Gila Rivers to flow, and the site of the Festival (Base and Meridian Wildlife Area) to be flooded out.

As initially planned, the event will feature: entertainment; wildlife encounters; archery; fishing; canoeing; birdwatching; hiking and more. New this year is the Crescent Crown Beer Garden located on the bridge over the river with a perfect view of the stage (21 years of age and over only).

The entertainment lineup includes Sugar & the Mint offering a blend of new old-time, contemporary bluegrass and indie-folk music appealing to wide audiences. Other local artists will perform bluegrass and folk music.
