The City of Goodyear is committed to our local art scene. With the Goodyear Library hosting fine art shows, Goodyear artists can showcase their works of art while conversing with other artists and residents.

Author Presentation by Adiba Nelson (ages 3-8)  |  February 9, 2020  |  1:30 pm, FREE

Adiba Nelson- Author, Screenwriter, Performer, Activist, Wife, Mother, Daughter, and most recently, subject of the Emmy winning documentary, The Full Nelson- presents "Meet ClaraBelle Blue", a story that reminds young children that people with special needs are not all that different from anyone else.

Vision and Sound Artist Reception  |   February 13, 2020  |  5:30 pm, FREE 

Working in partnership with Norma Cunningham, the curated show celebrates African American History Month and features adult and youth artist that exemplify visual and performing arts. Introducing Works by Rhonda Shakur Carter, Stephen Marc, Antoinette Cauley, Carla Keaton, Patricia Bohannon, Lathenia Johnson, Patricia Bohannon, Veralyn johnson, and Richard Retter. Emerging Artists: Kiera Mitchell, Simone Smyer & Faith Jackson. Music by Keyes Moore.

Antoinette Cauley Teen Workshop (ages 13-18)  |  February 23, 2020  |  1:30 pm, FREE

Antoinette Cauley, featured Artist at Arts HQ Gallery, award winning painter whose work is heavily influenced by the Hip Hop generation and music. Teen presentation and creative creations to take home.

Rhonda Shakur Carter, Creative Aging Workshop  |  February 24, 2020  |  3:30 pm, FREE

Rhonda Shakur Carter, creates and designs bold mixed media murals and portraits on canvas and wood. Presents a Creative Aging Workshop for adults 55 and over.
