About Chalk Art in the Park: Chalk Art in the Park is a FREE family friendly event that encourages artists and community members to come together and express themselves through sidewalk painting! Children and adults can sit beside professional artists and share their dreams in chalk. Partitcipating professional artists will have booths set-up to exhibit and sell their artwork.  Chalk art supplies will be provided by Goodyear Arts & Culture.  Other event highlights include entertainment by DL Joe Mercado from Next Dimension Music, facepainting by Rosa Montiel, Goodyear Mobile Museum and food vendors will be on-site with food for purchase.  

About the Show: Chalk Art in the Park is a collaborative art event between the city of Goodyear and the Goodyear Arts and Culture Commission. The event will consist of optional artists’ booths where artist will be able to showcase and sell their work. In addition to the artists’ booths, each artist is to create a unique sidewalk chalk art design in their designated space. 

Artist Requirements: This is a ‘lightly’ juried show. All artwork displayed must be original work executed by the artist (no buy/sell). All artwork must be family friendly. Exhibitors who bring unacceptable items will be asked to remove them from the show. All artist are required to participate in the sidewalk chalk art competition and hosting an artist booth is optional. There is no booth fee but the artist must create the chalk artwork in their designated square and the artist is solely responsible for their sidewalk chalk art. A standard collored soft pastel starter kit will be provided, along with a swag bag of miscellaneous items. However, you may bring your own specialty chalk if you wish. 

ALL CHALK TO BE USED MUST BE WASHABLE (NO OIL BASED CHALK). All sidewalk chalk artist will be competing for prizes.

Artist Sales: Artists keep 100% of their sales. Artists are responsible for collection of all their sales and reporting of taxes.


Artist Check-in / Registration: 7:00am – 8:00am (Look for the check in Arts & Culture booth)

Family Check-in: 10:00am-2:00pm

Artist Booth Setup complete by: 10:00am

Sidewalk Chalk Art: Artwork must be completed by 3:00pm

Awards: 2:00pm

Take-Down: Begins at 3:00pm (artists must stay until 3pm no early take-downs please)

Booth: A 10x10 area will be provided. Tents are recommended, but not a requirement. There is no electricity available. Artists are responsible for their own tents and displays including chairs and tables. There is no fee for artists tents. All tents must be weighted (no staking).
