Adult Tennis Drills (16+ yrs)
Having the best strokes, being in the best shape will not win matches. They are very important to allow you to be a strategic and tactical thinker on the court. You need to understand how to use your tools to effectively break down your opponent’s game. All Hitting is “LIVE BALLS”. Focus is on being a smarter player through drills and situational game play. FUN guaranteed! 

Cardio Tennis (16+ yrs)
The ultimate FUN group fitness, cardio class that includes cardiovscular workouts, tennis and games! Includes warm-up, Cardio tennis games, and cool-down phase; features heart rate monitors and on-court tv screen to track your performance.

Play Tennis Fast (16+ yrs)
Play Tennis Fast is a specific starter player course that has been developed to introduce (or welcome back) adult players to tennis using the slower balls. Adults learn to serve, rally and score (play the game) in the first session with orange balls and move on to ensure that by the end of the course: all adults will know the basic techniques, tactics and the basic rules of tennis. By the end of the 6 weeks, all adults will be able to play competitive points using the Green ball on a full court for the purpose of this course, adult starter players are defined as those who: are complete beginners to tennis i.e. have never played tennis before, or who have received basic coaching but have never played the game outside of a coaching environment, or beginners returning to tennis after a long absence. 

Registration Fee: $10 ($20 NR) Class Fee:1 day a week $180, 2 days a week $335, 3 days a week $430

Our Masters classes are focusing on maintaining and regaining abilities for daily life. Standing, walking and picking things up is where we start and there is no limit how much you can accomplish in this small group, very personalized program. This is a great start for individuals with limitations or no prior history with exercising.

Pre-registration is required for all classes either on-line or in person at the Goodyear Recreation Office at 3075 N. Litchfield Road.  Registration fee:  $10 ($20 non-resident) per session, payable to City of Goodyear at the time of registration.

Aikido Self-Defense Class (15yrs+)
Aikido is a defensive martial art where the defender uses the attacker’s own energy to avoid and neutralize the attack. It employs joint locks, takedowns, and throws. Suitable for the non-athlete and all ages. Emphasis is on humility, mutual respect, and reconciliation. Benefits of Aikido training include: Promotes Health, Unifies Body, Mind and Spirit, Develops Character and Confidence, Teaches Self-Defense, Provides Alternatives in Conflict Resolution.

Cost: $50 ($60 non-resident) per session, payable to City of Goodyear at the time of registration

FREE - Women's Self-Defense (14yrs+)
