Each week will have a specific theme to coordinate with the special presentations, games and activities provided. Themes for 2018 include Wild West Week, Outer Space Week, Super Hero Week, Carnival Week, Star Spangled 4th Week, Safari Week, and Rock Star Week.

Registration for Summer 2018 will be available on April 2nd.

Junior Leader Program

The summer recreation program is offering an amazing opportunity for youth ages 14 - 15 who want to gain valuable skills and job experience as a Junior Leader for the program.  Junior Leaders will volunteer for the 7-week or 6-week program (depending on the site) and learn valuable skills such as organization, teamwork, group activity facilitation, and leadership skills.  This program is FREE, but limited to an application and interview process.  In order to be considered for the program, applicants must fill out an application and be available to work throughout the summer.

To complete an application to become a Junior Leader, simply fill out the attached Junior Leader application and submit to the Recreation Office in person or via email at gyrec@goodyearaz.gov.
