Drop-in Summer Recreation Program (ages 5 - 13 years)


Goodyear Resident Registration begins April 1, 2019. Non-Residents registration begins April 3, 2019. 

The City of Goodyear's Summer Recreation Program is a supervised, drop-in program designed for youth who will be enrolling in first through eighth grade for the upcoming 2019/2020 school year. In order to be eligible for this program, participants must have completed a full year of kindergarten. 

Fully trained and supervised staff will provide a variety of fun, educational programs including indoor & outdoor activities, on-site clubs, games, mini tournaments, arts & crafts, movie days, field trips, guest instructors, speakers, and more. Each week will have a specific theme to coordinate with the special presentations, games, and activities provided. Weekly themes for 2019 include Pirate Week, Futuristic Week, Sports Extravaganza Week, Toy Box Week, Let Freedom Ring Week, Challenge Week, and Around the World Week.

Junior Leader Program
Goodyear's Summer Recreation Program offers an amazing opportunity for youth ages 14-15 who want to gain valuable skills and job experience as a Junior Leader.  Junior Leaders will volunteer for the 7-week or 6-week program (depending on the site) and learn valuable skills such as organization, teamwork, group activity facilitation, and leadership skills.  This program is FREE but requires an application and interview.  In order to be considered for the program, applicants must submit an application by  April 30 and will need to be available to work throughout the summer.

Full day session times:

7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Half day session times:
Morning - 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Afternoon - 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Field Trip Package (Optional): $55 ($70 Non-Resident)
Please note that participants must be enrolled in the full-day program. Package includes transportation to and from Summer Recreation site, field trip T-shirt, and six field trips including Urban Air Adventure Park, Bowling, Main Event, Harkins Theaters, and the Goodyear Swimming Pool.

Space is limited for weekly and half-day programs.  The program sells out quickly, don't wait to register!

Important Notes:
1) This is not an Arizona State Licensed childcare facility, therefore, children may choose to sign themselves in/out at any time during the program hours.
2) Children must bring a sack lunch and mid-morning snack.
3) All participants must fill out the entire registration packet. Online registrants must have registration packet turned into the Recreation Office by May 17. Forms can be dropped off, mailed to 3075 N. Litchfield Road, or scanned and emailed to
