Water Conservation Committee

Goodyear City Council established the Water Conservation Committee in spring 2016 to serve as an adhoc advisory committee to the Council and city staff. The Committee was charged to study water use patterns and conservation options with an emphasis on outdoor water use.  The Committee is to provide recommendations on priority actions for the next five years by June 2018.  The Committee will provide interim reports to Council semi-annually.

Who serves on the Committee?

The members appointed to two year terms in June 2016 include ten Goodyear residents and three representatives of stakeholder groups. Two of the resident members are alternates. Resident members include a majority from the area where the city provides water, as well as those from the area it does not serve.  Stakeholder representatives include representatives from the landscape industry, building industry, and a property holding—developer.

When are meetings held?

Most meetings will be held the third Tuesday of the month, opening at 6: 00 p.m. at Rm 117 in City Hall, 190 N. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, AZ 85338.  The Committee will meet 8-10 times per year so there will be some dates that are not used.
