The Parks & Recreation Department enhances the quality of life and fosters a sense of community for residents through its parks, programs, signature community events and services. The Department operates and maintains 327 acres of public parks, greenbelts and special use areas while providing year-round recreation opportunities for all ages and abilities.
Working with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission, the department strives to provide safe parks, promote, active lifestyles through diverse programs and produce community events that bring the community together. The Department also operates the Goodyear Ballpark and Recreational Complex which hosts Major League Spring Training and an array of public/private events year-round. The Department also provides Library Services through an agreement with Maricopa County.
