A Regional Destination
As the Southwest Valley's first super regional shopping
center, Estrella
Falls is poised to make Goodyear a prime regional destination.
Spanning more than 300 acres, the entire project will
bring 2 million square feet of shopping, dining, and entertainment upon build
out. Estrella Falls comprises a power center, super regional shopping center,
expansive public spaces and parks, residential, office and hotel
developments, and dynamic public art and entertainment. Bullard Wash Linear Park runs north-south between the mall and the power center providing an active
outdoor amenity for all ages.
The retail project will open in phases starting with the
power center. The super regional mall will follow along with additional
commercial developments, all in response to market demand.
The Market at Estrella Falls Power Center
The 500,000-square-foot, full-service power center - The Market at
Estrella Falls - opened in September 2008. It is located west of the
main mall area with entrances off McDowell Road or PebbleCreek Parkway.
The Market at Estrella Falls will complement the super
regional shopping center and bring various offerings to the area including Bashas,
Staples, Old Navy, Petco, TJ Max, Shoe Carnival, HomeGoods and La-Z-Boy.
Estrella Falls Super Regional
Mall
The regional mall will bring a new distinctive destination
in a design that's comfortable all year-round. The shopping mall itself
covers 105 acres between McDowell Road and Virginia Avenue, east of 151st
Ave.
The Stores
So far, commitments announced for the super regional
shopping center include three main anchors: Dillards, Macy's and Harkins
Theatres. Other stores include Coach, White House/Black Market, Industrial
Rideshop, and Chico's.
The Design
Estella Falls Super Regional Mall has an outdoor lifestyle
design in keeping with the latest shopping center designs across the country.
By each retailer having their own building, it allows them to better maintain
their unique identities, adds more architectural interest and better emulates
the traditional shopping experiences of the past.
SHADE CONSIDERATIONS
Understanding the public's concern about shopping in the
heat, one key element of the design of Estrella Falls is shade structures
throughout. Mature landscaping will also be used to provide more shade. All
storefronts will have shaded overhangs for pedestrians and most of the
pedestrian walkways will have unique shade canopies. Even the main roadway
through the center which also has on-street parking will have shade
structures.
