What we do
Learning is how we become able to do things that were previously difficult or even impossible. The Employee Development (ED) Division commits resources to learning initiatives that drive the current and future performance of the City of Goodyear. Learning starts with our unique New Employee Orientation (NEO), which spans five working days. After NEO there is a robust menu of learning options available to Goodyear employees and volunteers. All of this is in addition to Department-sponsored sessions, on-the-job training and employee access to an extensive library of professional and personal development material. We also have a dedicated Rewards, Recognition and Events committee that helps organize formal and informal ways to show our appreciation to employees.
The Goodyear Employee Development Division founded the Arizona Trainers' Network (AZTN), representing Training and Human Resource professionals from cities across the state of Arizona, joined together to serve our citizens by providing a robust variety of employee learning opportunities in fiscally responsible ways.
