Goodyear Branch Library
The City of Goodyear, in partnership with the Maricopa County Library District, has its first public library facility when the Goodyear Branch Library opened in temporary quarters. The temporary library houses 5,000 books, 6 computers for public use, self check out, wi-fi capability and a full range of DVDs for all ages, music CDs, picture books for children, large print books for seniors, the latest best-sellers and many other volumes of fiction and non-fiction. The temporary facility will be used until the new 30,000 sq. ft. permanent facility is open as part of the City Center Complex at N. Estrella Parkway and West Yuma Road.

"Our goal is for this library to become a truly integral part of the community," states Fran Wendtland, the branch manager of Goodyear?s new library. "We want the residents to consider the Goodyear Branch Library one of the most welcoming facilities they have ever visited."
Wendtland comes to Goodyear after three years as a Regional Branch Manager for the Maricopa Library District's Northwest Regional Library in Surprise. Fran brings 37 years of library experience to Goodyear. She moved to the Valley from the Seattle area in 2002 to work at the Chandler Library prior to taking the position in Surprise.
