CITY OF GOODYEAR COMMUNITY FUNDING PROGRAM

FY2016-17 AWARD RECIPIENTS

A New Leaf, Inc. to assist with the Family Stability Program  $5,000
 Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank to support the annual school uniform program  $2,000
 Aid to Adoption of Special Kids (AASK) to support the of the Building and Strengthening Families program  $2,000
 All Faith Community Services to support job training and community service learning opportunities for low-income adults and at-risk youth and enhance senior volunteer engagement at the food bank, provide low-income children a weekend snack sack and assist with expansion into a larger space.   $15,000
 Alzheimer's Association Desert Southwest Chapter to provide family care consultation, education workshops, helpline and support group services.  $5,000
 Area Agency on Aging, Region One, Inc. to reduce the number of Goodyear residents on the waiting list for SAIL services.  $5,200
 Arizona Opera Company to support the OperaTunity program which provides free arts education programming.  $1,000
 Benevilla to support the expansion of the volunteer home services program in Goodyear.  $1,500
 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona to support the Goodyear community-based mentoring program for high-risk, disadvantaged youth living in Goodyear.  $1,500
 Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix to help cover the costs of providing afterschool and summer programs to Goodyear youth at the Tri-City West/Thornwood Branch in Avondale.  $5,000
 Catitude Gallery Studios, CGS - A Community Arts Center for Follow Your Art Jr., a summer high school arts program.  $1,000
 Central Arizona Shelter Services, Inc. (CASS) to support the general operations of CASS' two regional shelters for single adults and families with children experiencing homelessness.  $10,000
 Childhelp, Inc. to cover a portion of the salary of a therapist who provides specialized mental health treatment services to Goodyear child abuse victims and non-offending family members through the Southwest Family Advocacy Center in Goodyear .  $10,000
 Community Information and Referral Services/2-1-1 Arizona to help fund call specialists.  $3,700
 Father Matters, Inc. to establish, recruit for and facilitate the Fathers in the Mix program in Goodyear community schools and in support of the 24/7 Dad curriculum.  $1,500
 Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona for direct expenses for the weekly mentor program, the professional artists series, Free Arts Days and the summer camp series.  $1,500
 Hattie Larlham to fund scholarships to special needs students from Goodyear who do not have resources to attend Camp Connect and to help offset costs of program planning.  $1,000
 Helping Families in Need to help Goodyear community members gain access to various benefits including health care, food and nutrition, and connection with other community services.   $3,500
 Homeless Youth Connections (HYC) to support the Empowering Youth for the Future program.  $3,000
 Mission of Mercy, Inc. to provide no-cost health care services and resources to Goodyear families.  $3,000
 New Life Center to support domestic violence shelter housing costs.  $10,000
 Sky Kids, Incorporated building self-esteem and confidence for special needs kids through flight.  $1,000
 Southwest Lending Closet to help maintain an adequate inventory of durable medical equipment to meet the growing need.  $10,000
 Southwest Valley Literacy Association to attract and train more tutors and in support of volunteer training.  $1,000
 St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance to procure the food for, and distributed, emergency food boxes to Goodyear residents dealing with a crisis situation that compromises their ability to secure enough food to eat.  $5,000
 Teen Lifeline for general operating in support of the Crisis Hotline, Life Skills Development and Prevention & Outreach programs specifically aimed at Goodyear teens.  $5,000
 West Valley Youth Orchestra to provide a one day workshop for members of the West Valley Youth Orchestra.  $1,000
