Residents have opportunity to learn about police department operations

Applications are being accepted for the Goodyear Citizen’s Police Academy, a 10-week program that gives attendees a close-up and behind-the-scenes learning experience.  The program, which takes place twice a year at the Goodyear Police Department’s Administration Building, 14455 W. Van Buren Street, Suite E101, is limited to 30 people and held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning March 18.

Residents will learn about department operations, a day of work, investigating crimes, and keeping residents safe. The program is free and taught by personnel from several different police department areas including: crime scene investigation; firearm safety and training; criminal street gangs; SWAT; and canine officer duties.
