Temporary Change to Trash and Recycle Collection

Post Date:03/26/2020 8:00 PM

In an effort to protect the health of sanitation workers and to follow CDC guidelines, a temporary change is being made to trash and recycling pickup in Goodyear. Starting Wednesday, April 1, the city’s sanitation provider, Right-Away-Disposal (RAD), will collect curbside trash and recycling containers at the same time and by the same truck. This temporary new process is needed due to current CDC guidelines that limit the number of workers and types of manual handling of recycled items in RAD’s recycling facility.

The time of your pickup might shift, but please continue to have containers out by 6 a.m. on your designated day. Overstuffed containers and trash placed next to them, will not be picked up since this requires staff to have contact with the contents as they manually load the overflow in the truck. Monthly bulk pickup is not impacted by these changes.

Please continue to practice proper recycling and place recyclables in the proper bin to ensure a swift transition to normal operations when it resumes.
