Goodyear Comes Together During Difficult Times
Residents and business owners make and donate face coverings
In March, after hearing that medical masks may be in short supply, Kathy Basaldua, owner of Haircutters in the Park in Goodyear, sprang into action. “I wanted to help out,” said Basaldua. She had the tools and the know how to make lined face coverings from fabric and set about getting the supplies she needed to start doing just that.
Goodyear residents, like Liz M., heard about the effort and wanted to help. “I wanted to do something for my community,” said Liz, “so I helped cut fabric for the face coverings.”
Basaldua has donated over 200 face coverings. She’s even received monetary donations to help purchase fabric to keep her efforts going.
