Banner Health today celebrated the opening of its Banner Health Center in Goodyear during a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house event for the community. The newly constructed health center is located at 1800 North Civic Square, inside Goodyear Civic Square at GSQ, a rapidly growing downtown mixed-use hub.
The 65,000-square-foot facility is the first large multispecialty health center of its kind in Goodyear, fulfilling a demand for more advanced care in the bustling community. The health center is scheduled to open its doors to patients on Oct. 22.
“Our mission is to make health care easier for people, and the opening of this new Banner Health Center will do just that for the Goodyear community,” said Shiva Birdi, MD, chief executive officer of Banner Medical Group. “We’re proud to offer next-level medical care as the city continues to grow, and we’re looking forward to helping families thrive in it.”
The three-story building houses services for primary care, orthopedics, endocrinology, and medical imaging. It will contain a total of 56 exam rooms and medical imaging suites for services like CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound, and mammography, among others. Strategically located in the heart of Goodyear’s downtown area, the new facility brings convenient medical care options for people and their families who live nearby.
“The addition of Banner Health at GSQ is a tremendous benefit to our community,” said Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo. “Not only will it provide our residents with greater access to quality health care closer to home, but it will also help strengthen Goodyear’s medical innovation corridor. Investments like this help create a more vibrant city where people want to live, work and do business.”
The new Banner Health Center is the first medical project within GSQ and was developed and built by Ryan Companies US, Inc., in collaboration with Globe Corporation.
“Our team is proud to have completed the Banner Health Center at GSQ in Goodyear, an innovative comprehensive medical care building designed to serve the growing healthcare needs of this vibrant community,” said Jaime Northam, senior vice president of healthcare development for Ryan Companies. “By bringing together multiple medical services under one roof, this location will be a cornerstone for wellness and a vital asset to the rapidly expanding community in Goodyear and the greater West Valley.”
According to JLL research, metro Phoenix inpatient volume growth is anticipated to grow by 7.9% over the next five years, and outpatient volume growth is predicted to rise by 17.9% — both surpassing nationwide projections. Goodyear has been consistently ranked among the fastest growing cities in Arizona.
“The opening of this Banner Health Center is a big step forward in bringing the vision of GSQ to life,” said Globe Corp. co-CEO, chairman and president George Getz. “From day one, our goal for GSQ has been to create a walkable, dynamic downtown where people can live, work and access great amenities — including top-tier health care.
