Holidays on the Square & Tree Lighting
One of the community’s most beloved traditions is back! The city of Goodyear is excited to welcome residents and visitors to Holidays on the Square. This year, it is two magical evenings filled with holiday cheer, family activities and the return of The RinQ, the city’s free synthetic ice-skating rink.
The celebrations take place Friday, Dec. 5 and Friday, Dec. 12 from 5–8 p.m. at Goodyear Civic Square Park, 1900 N. Civic Square. Each night brings its own festive theme and entertainment, making this a perfect way to kick off the holiday season with friends, neighbors and family. Friday, Dec. 5 – Merry & Mismatched
Pull out your brightest, boldest and most brilliantly ugly holiday sweater! Festivities start at 5 p.m. with the tree lighting at 6 p.m. The evening features:
- Grand opening of The RinQ
- Photos with Santa
- Festive face painting
- Live holiday performances
- Goodyear’s official holiday tree lighting at 6 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 12 – A Charlie Brown Christmas
A warm and nostalgic evening inspired by the beloved classic. Festivities start at 5 p.m. Enjoy:
- A live theater performance by CAPA
- Photos with Santa
- Holiday crafts
- Family-friendly activities and seasonal surprises
More Holiday Magic: The RinQ
- Can’t make it to the festival nights? The RinQ will be open Dec. 5–28, Fridays–Sundays from 5–9 p.m.
- Admission and skate rentals are free
- No preregistration required
- Free parking available at the North Civic Square Parking Garage
In addition to the events, throughout December, visitors are welcome to check out the festive decorations and holiday lights at Goodyear Civic Square. There are great photo spots! You can also view the square live 24/7 on YouTube at www.youtube.com/@CityofGoodyearAZ/streams. The city will also stream the tree lighting live on its social media channels.
