Heat Prompts Time Change for Spring Training Games

Select Spring Training Games at Goodyear Ballpark Move to Evening Games Due to Forecasted High Temperatures

With unprecedented warm temperatures forecasted for the Valley next week, two Spring Training games at Goodyear Ballpark will move from afternoon start times to evening games. This is to help ensure a safer and more comfortable experience for fans, players and staff.

The following games will now begin at 6:05 p.m.:

  • Friday, March 20 – Seattle Mariners @ Cleveland Guardians
  • Saturday, March 21 – Chicago White Sox @ Cincinnati Reds

Mobile tickets via the MLB Ballpark app will automatically update with the new time information. No ticket exchange is necessary. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. Tickets already purchased remain valid and will reflect the updated game times. For ticket related questions, please email the Goodyear Ballpark Ticket Office at Tickets@goodyearaz.gov.

Heat Safety Reminders for Fans

With the warm temperatures expected, fans attending spring training games at Goodyear Ballpark are encouraged to hydrate before arriving, drink water during the game, wear sunscreen and hats, and take breaks in shaded areas around the Ballpark.

To help fans stay hydrated, the ballpark allows guests to bring one sealed water bottle (up to 1 liter) and one empty reusable water bottle to refill at water stations inside the stadium.

Fans are encouraged to monitor GoodyearBP.com and Goodyear Ballpark social media channels for additional updates related to Spring Training schedules and weather conditions.
