Interim Fire Chief Wayne brings more than 30 years of fire service experience to the Goodyear Fire Department. His career began as an Aircraft Crash Firefighter in the U.S. Air Force, with service in England, Arizona, and during the Persian Gulf War. Before joining Goodyear Fire in 2015, he served with the Glendale Fire Department.

Chief Wayne has advanced through every rank of the fire service and holds degrees in Fire Science, Fire Service Administration, and Educational Leadership. He is a graduate of Texas A&M’s Fire Service CEO Program, a Certified Public Manager, and a nationally recognized assessor for fire department accreditation. He currently serves on the International Association of Fire Chiefs’ Safety, Health, and Survival Section Board of Directors.
