Brian Issitt
Police Chief
Chief Brian J. Issitt is a retired Commander of the Phoenix Police Department with nearly 25 years of distinguished law enforcement service. A second-generation police officer, he retired in February 2023 after a career defined by leadership and dedication to public safety.
Issitt commanded the Desert Horizon Precinct and led the Traffic Bureau, overseeing multiple specialized units. He also served in advanced training, SWAT, and counterterrorism assignments. He holds two master’s degrees, is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, and previously served as Deputy Director of the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control. His background as a Division I athlete helped shape the values of teamwork and perseverance that guided his career.
