What is the Teen Academy?
Get an inside look at law enforcement with the Goodyear Police Teen Academy! This hands-on program is designed for teens who are interested in learning more about policing, leadership, and community service. Participants will engage in interactive activities, scenario-based training, and demonstrations led by Goodyear Police personnel—covering everything from patrol operations and investigations to K-9 units and emergency response.
The Teen Academy builds confidence, teamwork, and decision-making skills while fostering positive relationships between youth and law enforcement. Whether you're considering a future career in public safety or just want a unique and engaging experience, this program offers an unforgettable behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to serve and protect the community.
Who is eligible for the Teen Academy?
Applicants must be between the ages of 14 and 18 at the time of application and currently enrolled in a high school program. Applicants must provide their own transportation to the Goodyear Police Department (11 N 145th Ave., Goodyear, AZ 85338) for the duration of the program.
When is the Teen Academy?
The 2026 Teen Police Academy is being held from June 8th to June 11th from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
When are applications due?
Applications are due no later than Friday, May 22nd. No late submissions will be accepted.
How much does it cost?
The cost of the program is $100.00. Payment instructions will be provided upon acceptance to program.

Important Note
This program is centered around and geared for students interested in law enforcement or criminal justice opportunities. All applicants must be of good moral character, with no significant and/or violent criminal activity, gang associations/affiliations or arrest history. A background check and interview will be conducted on ALL applicants prior to full acceptance into this academy program to determine suitability, maturity and eligibility. Students not exercising suitable behavior or who become disruptive during any portion of this course may be subject to termination from this program (with no refund given).
